Happy Thanksgiving!
November 26, 2010
I had a wonderful holiday with my family.
More importantly, I’m completely unpacked. I’m working my way through the rest of the early submissions over the holiday weekend.
Then I’ve got a slew of backed up queries to get through.
I also will be getting out several manuscripts to publishers from my clients next week.
Busy, busy, but I’m finally free to work all day every day to catch up.
The move is officially over, and from here on in, it’s work, work, work.
Which, luckily, I really enjoy.
Happy holiday weekend to everyone.

Happy Thanksgiving! Sounds like you’ll be back in full swing by year’s end.
I’m looking forward to hearing more as you go through your punch list.
You rock, Denise. Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for the heads up!
Happy Thanksgiving to you too Denise! I’m sure it’s a relief to be completely done unpacking. Have a great week!
Happy Thanksgiving and congrats on accomplishing so much! I’m sure you still have a lot of work awaiting you, but progress is good. Have a lovely weekend:)

Happy Turkey Day! Congratulations on finishing the move. I’m sure that is a huge relief. Looking forward to hearing back from you. Have a great weekend!
Thanks for keeping us all in the loop, Denise.
Glad you had a wonderful holiday Denise! I personally believe we should have more holiday’s that bring out the inner ‘foodie’ in everyone. Thank you for the update and good luck with all your reading π
Congrats on finishing up your move! Good to hear you had a great holiday! Hope you have quick and excellent sales with the mss going out to publishers!
Glad you had a happy Thanksgiving and I hope you enjoy the rest of the holidays. I’m sure it will feel good to be able to concentrate on your new chosen profession. You’ve gotten through a lot of things, with the move and the overwhelming number of queries/submissions, but it looks like you’re up for it!
One of the nicest moments from Thanksgiving is the left over aroma of all the spices used in making all our favorite dishes. Sounds like you had a great holiday and now have the joy of sorting through all the manuscripts and materials in hand. May your new venture turn out to bring you all the joy first anticipated and more importantly that you enjoy every moment doing what you love.
Glad you are all unpacked. Feels great to be done huh? I’m sure all of us are more than willing to be patient. We will all be greatful to hear anything back when you are able. π Have a great weekend!
Unpacked = much to be thankful for.
When you say you’re making your way through the “early” submissions, can you specify up to what date is considered early? It would help those whose fulls you have to deal with the waiting game. Thanks and keep up the very informative blog.
Denise,
Thank-you so much for posting frequently!
I was one of those that added to your pile of 3,000 emails. Sorry. When I saw how big that flood of submissions was I felt a bit horrified for you and for my submission. I am pretty new at all of this and hearing from you (even if it is to the general masses) completely eases the stress of this process. I am grateful for you translucence.
It is an amazing feat to be completely unpacked…I have lived in my house for three years and still find the random box holding some long lost treasure. Enjoy the weeks ahead, being able to focus on a signal thing is a great gift.
I’m sure a huge weight has been lifted off your shoulders now that you are done unpacking. Enjoy the feeling of accomplishment! Thank you for updating us on your progress. Enjoy the rest of the reading. We all look forward to hearing from you.

Glad your holiday was a happy one!
Glad you had a nice holiday and are finally finished. Looking forward to hearing from you, one way or the other. Chris
Congrats on your progress.
Have you begun sending out rejections yet?
If we have another Agent considering our work do we need to let you know, or is that just going to add to your email avalanche?
Happy reading! π
A Riddle for Ms. Little . . .
You read fast, 10 pages a minute! I bet you remember every detail in it.
I sent you my query, six weeks now gone by. I hope someday Iβll get a reply.
Your blog is fantastic, a work of art. If I keep this brownnosing up, my nose will smell like a fart.
This is so a SUCK UP, I canβt deny. But I do want you to read my manuscript, and that is no lie.
Good luck with your new place and your career; I hope you have a safe and happy New Year.
Please, start sending rejections or something. Anything.
Bet I know what’s on everyone’s Christmas list this year… ; )
Ms. Little,
I tried to reach you via email but your inbox is apparently full and the message keeps bouncing back.
Anyways, I wanted to let you know that I have two offers for representation. I understand if you’re too swamped to reply. I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to read and for keeping us posted on your blog.
Best regards,

Congradulations. What a great christmas present!
Thanks!! Yes, I just got my early Christmas present! π
Has anybody else tried to contact Denise?
Maybe it’s just my email that gets bounced back… π¦
Alas–I’m getting emails faster than I can answer them.
My email can hold about 4000 emails.
I can answer about 600 emails a day.
I took the weekend off, and all heck broke loose.
I’m fine.
I’m reading as fast as I can.
My new client’s submissions are going out That’s taken time, as well.
I’m going to have to hire help, I think, if I want to keep up.

Denise: At least you weren’t in a ditch somewhere. π Glad you’re all right.
Hi Denise,
I’ve tried to contact you through LinkedIn to offer my professional help (I edit at a state university) but obviously, that didn’t get through to you.
Please c0ntact me at evepaludan@yahoo.com if you want to hire a publishing assistant. I can send my resume, letters of recommendation, etc.
I’m taking Dec. 17th-Jan. 2nd as a vacation from my job and could help immensely.
Best,
Eve
Thanks for the offer, Eve.
I may have to take you up on it.
Meantime, I”m tied to the computer for the next few days, working at getting rthe email down to doable levels.
Denise
Hi Denise,
Thank you for your kind reply. Please keep me on your “A” list of potential publishing assistants.
All my best,
Eve
Congrats, Elena!
I contacted Denise about a week ago but didn’t hear back from her. In the past, she’s always responded to tell me she received the email, but this time nothing.
As far as I can tell, the email didn’t bounce, but knowing my service provider that’s not necessarily a reliable indicator.
Maybe someone else can tell us whether they’ve had a bounce-back.
Denise, if you see this, I hope all is well.
EEG,
I tried to email her to talk to her about something as well and my email bounced back that her inbox was full.
I’m glad to see you’re alive and well and just overwhelmed. Any idea what your timeframe is on the fulls you requested months ago?
Soon!
I’m almost through them.
Denise
